Weathered by tide and time, "Salty Seadog" stands as a portrait of grit, loyalty, and the legends etched into every salt-stung line of a sailor’s face. With eyes sharp as the horizon and a beard that swirls like storm-born waves, this seafarer is both myth and memory, an anchor to the old world of sea shanties and silent promises.
 
This piece honors the archetype of the mariner, a recurring spirit in my work. Evoking the raw romance of the open ocean. The wind curls through his beard like stories passed from ship to shore, while hidden details, crosses, swells, and faded ink, speak to a life lived deeply, and fiercely, under the pull of the moon and mast. His expression is unwavering, his hands marked by devotion, knuckles tattooed with 'swim'  a quiet invocation of survival, movement, and surrender to the current. From his rose-twined grip to the anchor stitched proudly on his cap, every element tells a tale of resilience, wanderlust, and unwavering purpose.
 
"Salty Seadog" is for those drawn to the sea’s call, who carry stories in their skin, and who know that some hearts are made not of gold, but of salt and wind. A piece for old souls, lone wolves, and anyone who’s ever looked out at the water and felt home.
